The heart of Wild Hogs with the soul of The Big Chill.
An obsessive planner reunites seven lifelong friends for a week in Ibiza, convinced he has created the perfect itinerary to celebrate his 55th birthday. As cancelled flights, lost luggage and a night in a Spanish hospital tear his spreadsheet apart, he discovers the memories that matter most can never be scheduled.
A penniless young lawyer arrives in the rough country of New Mexico and builds a life of law, land and power on nothing but nerve and the friendships he makes along the way. Then one of those friendships carries him to the center of America’s greatest political scandal.

The founder
Meet Rick Olivo.
Rick Olivo, Lake Travis, TexasCairo American College, Class of 1984, on the Great Pyramid. Rick is in the middle, leaning on a stone in his number 9 soccer jersey.
Rick Olivo grew up a diplomat’s son. His father served twenty-five years in the Air Force and twenty more with the State Department, so home became exotic cities like Manila, Sevilla and Cairo, where Rick graduated from Cairo American College. In college he interned at NATO headquarters in Brussels. He wanted to join the CIA but a hiring freeze changed his destiny.
He was an international diamond buyer before law school and then built a legal career that has been going on for more than twenty-five years, at least twenty of them on the bench. Nearly three decades of listening to people tell their stories taught him that the best material is already happening around us.
In 2008, Rick became general counsel of a national tequila brand and fell in love with 100% agave. He traveled the agave regions of Jalisco, visited dozens of distilleries and earned his certification in tequila culture from the Consejo Regulador del Tequila. In 2021, he founded Don Rico Tequila.
When he is not writing, Rick rides his Harley to historic Texas courthouses, sips tequila, cooks, watches movies and follows Real Betis from Austin.
